Abstract
Seabird foraging and population counts (Seabird Monitoring Programme) developed to be used with SMMNR GIS models. The seabird foraging dataset was derived using Welsh seabird colony data (locational and seabird counts) from the Seabird Monitoring Programme (SMP) and the revised mean max foraging ranges of seabirds (Woodward et al., 2019). Each of these core datasets were assessed as high confidence (see ABPmer, 2020, Appendix C); hence, high confidence was assigned to the derived seabird foraging dataset. ‘Data were provided by the Seabird Monitoring Programme, a Scheme funded jointly by the British Trust for Ornithology and Joint Nature Conservation Committee, in association with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, with fieldwork conducted by both non-professional and professional surveyors.’ ABPmer, (2020).
